Jacob Pietersz Spis, born in 1725, died 13 December 1810, at [[Hoorn (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Hoorn]], was the last untrained minister of the Mennonite congregation at Hoorn, Dutch province of [[North Holland (Netherlands)|North Holland]]. He served 1775-1795 and 1802-1810. In the period of the [[French Revolution (1789-1799)|French Revolution]], Spis was not a [[Patriots and Mennonites in the Netherlands|Patriot]] as were nearly all the Dutch Mennonites, but a loyal adherent of the Orange party. For this reason he was suspended from his ministry from 1795 to 1802. Spis was also the last conservative leader in Hoorn.
