Michiel Jansz (Janszoon), a native of [[Oosterhout (Noord-Brabant, Netherlands)|Oosterhout]] in [[Brabant (Belgium/Netherlands)|Brabant]], Netherlands, who (according to the confession of [[Jan van Sol (16th century)|Jan van Sol]] at [[Brussels (Belgium)|Brussels]] in 1550) moved from the [[Netherlands|Netherlands]] to Danzig, West Prussia, Germany. Here he and Thonis Barbier were "buyldrager," i.e., deacons for the care of the poor of the congregation. Shortly before 1550 he died at [[Elbing (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland)|Elbing]]. He is not identical with [[Michiel Jans (d. 1567?)|Michiel Jansens]].
