The Lake Haven Mennonite Church southwest of Starbuck, [[Minnesota (USA)|Minnesota]], USA was established in 1990. The congregation started as a result of an investigation of the Alexandria, Minnesota area by the Colonization Board of the denomination. Elmer and Leah Peachey from [[Belleville (Pennsylvania, USA)|Belleville]], [[Pennsylvania (USA)|Pennsylvania]] were the first family to move to the area in April 1989.

Initially, families met in homes and sometimes listened to worship services by phone from [[Gospel Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church (Barron, Wisconsin, USA)|Almena]], [[Wisconsin (USA)|Wisconsin]]. Once a month, they traveled to Almena for services. In August 1990, the group rented a vacant church building. It also rented a mobile home to use for school.

Lake Haven was organized as a congregation on 2 September 1990. For the first six years, pastoral leadership came from nonresident or short-term visiting ministers. Wade Jantz was ordained as a minister on 20 January 1996.

The church also operates the Lake Country Christian School.

In 2020 the congregation was part of the [[Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (CGC)|Church of God in Christ, Mennonite]]. The ministers were Wade Jantz and Jason Isaac.
