Arnoldus de Jong, a Dutch Mennonite pastor, b. 14 April 1802 at [[Leeuwarden (Friesland, Netherlands)|Leeuwarden]], d. 22 May 1854 at [[Dantumawoude (Friesland, Netherlands)|Dantumawoude]], studied at the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Theological Seminary (Kweekschool)|Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary]] and served the congregation of Surhuisterveen 1826-1827 and Dantumawoude 1827-1854. He is the author of some poetical works. He was married to Anna Fontein of Harlingen. His son Dirk Fontein de Jong was a promoter of the Frisian dairy industry, having also a keen interest in church matters; in 1896 he was president of the [[Sociëteit van Doopsgezinde Gemeenten in Friesland (Conference of Mennonite Congregations in Friesland)|Friese Sociëteit]] (Mennonite Conference in Friesland). A grandson of Arnoldus de Jong, also called Arnoldus de Jong (1873-November 1946), was a Mennonite minister of the following congregations: [[Noordhorn (Groningen, Netherlands)|Noordhorn]] 1898-1910, [[Hindeloopen (Friesland, Netherlands)|Hindeloopen]] 1910-1914, and [[Broek op Langendijk (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Broek op Langendijk]] 1914-1938.
