In 1970 the Cliffwood Heights Neighborhood Church was organized in Capitola, California and became a member of the [[Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (United States Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches)|Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches]]. The congregation changed its name in 1989 to Grace Community Church of Capitola.

The congregation disbanded around 1997 and a group of 15 people from the church formed the core of a new church, [[Shorelife Community Church (Capitola, California, USA)|Shorelife Community Church]].
