Goossen de Hoedemaecker (hatter), an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, was taken prisoner with five brethren during a service in the Obignies Forest near [[Doornik (Hainaut, Belgium)|Doornik]], [[Belgium|Belgium]]. They were all sentenced to death and burned at the stake in Obignies in 1558
