The Barkman family name has appeared among the Mennonite preachers of [[Manitoba (Canada)|Manitoba]], [[Kansas (USA)|Kansas]] and [[Nebraska (USA)|Nebraska]], among them J. F. Barkman ([[Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (CGC)|Church of God in Christ, Mennonite]]) in [[Steinbach (Manitoba, Canada)|Steinbach]], Manitoba and J. R. Barkman ([[Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches|Evangelical Mennonite Brethren]]) in [[Henderson (Nebraska, USA)|Henderson]], Nebraska.
