[http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php Wikimedia Commons]'']]     Berthold Heinrich Brockes (born 22 September 1680, died 16 January 1747) was a city senator of [[Hamburg-Altona Mennonite Church (Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg, Germany)|Hamburg]] and author of the famous <em>Irdisches Vergnügen in Gott, </em>a collection of religious observations on nature. He was a friend of [[Denner, Jakob (1659-1746)|Jakob Denner]], the noted Mennonite preacher, and wrote a poem on his death.
