<em>Een Christelijke </em><em>Proeve, </em><em>ende overlegginge ofte rekeninge waerin dat alien B. en S. vermaendt warden tot een scherp ende neerstich ondersoec haers selfs, ende der gantscher menichte, </em>is a Dutch Mennonite book, published in 1570, reprinted in 1610 (no publisher indicated) and at Haarlem in 1626. It was published after the Dutch Mennonites had been divided by the [[Frisian Mennonites|Frisian]]-[[Flemish Mennonites|Flemish]] schism, in which the [[Zierikzee (Zeeland, Netherlands)|Zierikzee]] congregation had remained neutral, and were therefore called <em>[[Stilstaanders|Stilstaanders]]. </em>They were banned both by Frisians and Flemish. In <em>Een Christelijke Proeve </em>they give the motivation of their neutrality, criticizing the dissentious groups and urging peace and reconciliation.
