Joseph Habets was a Dutch Catholic priest, archivist of the province of [[Limburg (Limburg, Belgium)|Limburg]] and chairman of the Historical Society of Limburg-Roermond. He wrote <em>De Wederdoopers te Maastricht tijdens deregierung von Karel V</em> (Roermond, 1877), which gives a thorough and authentic account of the rise and suppression of the fanatical [[Anabaptism|Anabaptists]] of [[Münster Anabaptists|Münster]] in and about the city.
