View source for Salisbury (Wiltshire, England)

Salisbury (in the documents <em>Sarum</em>), the seat of one of the five [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] (Baptist) congregations of [[England|England]], who on 12 November 1626, wrote a letter to [[Ries, Hans de (1553–1638)|Hans de Ries]] and [[Wybma, Reynier Wybrands (1573-1645)|Reinier Wybrands]] and their ([[Waterlanders|Waterlander]]) Mennonite congregations in Holland, in which they declared that they had read with full agreement the confession of faith by Hans de Ries and [[Gerritsz, Lubbert (1534-1612)|Lubbert Gerritsz]], and made a proposal to form a union with the Dutch Waterlanders.
