View source for Joos van de Walle (ca. 1528-1560)

Joos van de Walle was an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr burned at the stake on the Vrijdagsmarkt at [[Ghent (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Ghent]], [[Belgium|Belgium]], on 2 March 1560, together with four others. Joos was a citizen of Ghent, and was 32 years of age. It could not be ascertained whether Joos van de Walle belonged to that [[Walle, van de, family name|van de Walle family]] of which a number of members died as Anabaptist martyrs.
