Friedrich Gottlieb Kettner was a Lutheran theologian. During his last years he was the second pastor at St. John's in Magdeburg, Prussia, [[Germany|Germany]]. As <em>praeses, </em>with Karl Gottlob Zeidler as <em>respondens, </em>according to contemporary academic custom, he treated the life, doctrine, and writings of [[Menno Simons (1496-1561)|Menno Simons]], as well as the confessions and teachings, diffusion, and customs of his followers, after a brief reference to [[Müntzer, Thomas (1488/9-1525)|Müntzer]] and [[Münster Anabaptists|Münster]] (in the series <em>Lipsiae, literis Christiani Scholvinii)</em>, titled <em>Historiam Mennonis ejusque asseclarum </em>(1696).
