Zaltbommel, a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland, formerly the seat of a Mennonite congregation, usually called Bommel, not to be confused with the Bommel and Ooltgensplaat congregation on the island of Goeree. Of the Zaltbommel congregation there is only scarce information: it had originated by 1595, for in this year the Reformed pastor reported that the Mennonites in his town were increasing and holding public meetings. In the 17th century this congregation belonged to the Flemish branch. It was represented at a Flemish conference at Haarlem in 1649, when its pulpit was vacant. Probably it died out soon after.
