Zahler, Melchior, an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] deacon in Frutigen in the [[Bern (Switzerland)|Swiss canton of Bern]], was in 1710 imprisoned for three weeks in Bern on account of his faith. With Benedikt Brechbühl and Hans Bürky, Zahler was sent to Amsterdam, to present to the city council a written account of their imprisonment and a confession of faith.
