Wirdum, a village six miles south of Leeuwarden (coordinates: 53° 8′ 59″ N, 5° 48′ 14″ E) in the Dutch province of Friesland, where Leenaert Bouwens baptized at least 365 persons in 1551-1582. There was, however, no Mennonite congregation at Wirdum. The converts probably joined the church of Leeuwarden or some other neighboring congregation.
