The Weidenfeld Chortitzer Mennonite congregation began services in 1938. A Sunday School program was started in the years following. A basement and a new foyer were added to the building in 1978, providing adequate space for the the Sunday School and midweek children's clubs. The congregation has been affiliated with the Chortitzer Mennonite Conference. Pastor Cornie Martens served in 1996 as a congregational leader.
