Vossen, Arnold van (d. after 1708)

Arnold van Vossen (d. after 1708), a Mennonite immigrant from Hamburg, Germany, who arrived at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1700, joined the Germantown Mennonite Church. After some difficulty with van Vossen, Hans Neuss (Nice), the preacher of this congregation, left the church. Van Vossen may have been a member of the de Voss family of Hamburg-Altona. In 1702 he gave the land for the building of the Germantown meetinghouse.
