Vishenau (Jihomoravský kraj, Czech Republic)

Vishenau (Vyškov), formerly a principality in Moravia, where the Hutterian Brethren established two Bruderhofs. The Brethren here became noted for their production of beautiful ceramics. The Bruderhofs were burned down on 20 June 1605, by soldiers. In October 1622, the Brethren were expelled from Vishenau, leaving all their possessions behind. They settled in Hungary.
