Dionysius Vinne, one of the [[Wassenberger Prädikanten|Wassenberg preachers]], born at Diest in [[Brabant (Belgium/Netherlands)|Brabant]], was won to Lutheranism by 1523 in [[Antwerp (Belgium)|Antwerp]], later betook himself to [[Jülich (Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany)|Jülich]]. With brief interruptions he zealously preached the new doctrine in Wassenberg, Hongen, and especially Süstern. On 17 September 1532, he went to [[Münster Anabaptists|Münster]] in [[Westphalia (Germany)|Westphalia]], was baptized there on 5 January 1534, and appointed to the office of apostle.
