Verhamme, a Dutch Mennonite family, whose ancestor Pieter Verhamme moved from Kortrijk (Courtrai) in Flanders, Belgium, to Haarlem, Holland, in 1567 because of persecution. Here this family was found first in the Flemish, then in the Peuzelaarsteeg Mennonite congregation until it died out in the 18th century. From about 1700 a branch was also found in Amsterdam as members of the Lamist church. Here too they died out.
