<em>Verhaal der Ortderhandeling . . . voorgevallen in Amsterdam</em> 1684 en 1685 (Amsterdam, 1685) is the circumstantial report of the negotiations between the representatives of the [[Lamists|Lamist]] and [[Zonists|Zonist]] churches of Amsterdam to restore unity in the Amsterdam congregation, which had been sev­ered by the [[Lammerenkrijgh|Lammerenkrijgh]] and the schism of 1664. These negotiations, however, failed. The main difference concerned the importance of the confessions of faith. The Zonists thought them in­ dispensable; the Lamists on the contrary did not wish to have fixed confessions of faith. The Lamists were represented in the conferences by [[Galenus Abrahamsz de Haan (1622-1706)|Galenus Abrahamsz]], [[Maurik, Willem van (1625-1710)|Willem van Maurik]], and some Amster­dam Lamist deacons; the Zonists by [[Apostool, Samuel (1638-1699)|Samuel Apostool]] and [[Fortgens, Michiel (1663-1695)|Michiel Fortgens]] with some Amster­dam Zonist deacons, but also by some Zonist leaders from outside, e.g., Pieter Jansz Stapper, Jan Maartens Mol, E.
