Verbeek (Verbeeck), a rather common Dutch fam­ily name both Mennonite and non-Mennonite. Joos(t) Verbeeck (Joos de Cruysere), a Men­nonite elder, suffered martyrdom at Antwerp, Belgium in 1561. In the 17th and 18th centuries there were a number of Verbee(c)ks in both the Lamist and Zonist congregations of Amsterdam.
