Eine Unpartheiische Liedersammlung, Zum Gebrauch beim Oeffentlichen Gottesdienst und der Häuslichen Erbauung, the only hymnal except the Ausbund used by the Old Order Amish (not for regular Sunday morning worship but only for evening singings and special occasions), and also used by the Old Order Mennonites, first edition 1860 at Lancaster, reprinted there 8 times, twice at Elkhart in 1911 and 1929, and 8 times at Scottdale 1917-1954. It is a condensation of 152 hymns from the Lancaster Unpartheyisches Gesangbuch. It is familiarly called by the Amish "das dünne Büchli" (the thin book) in contrast to "das dicke Büchli" (the thick book, i.e., the Ausbund). It was published in an enlarged and much revised edition under the same name in 1892 by S. D. Guengerich, an Old Order Amish layman of Amish, Iowa (printed at Elkhart), and reprinted 5 times (1907-1954).
