<em>The True and Blessed Way, Which Leadeth Beneath the Cross to Heaven or a True Doctrine from the Word of God, for the Benefit of Every Lover of the Truth, and the Encouragement of Their Salvation</em> (Harrisburg, 1816), pp. 314, a small book by [[Herr, John (1782-1850)|John Herr]]. This is the English edition of <em>Der wahre und selige Weg</em> (Lancaster, 1815), the first and one of the most important works of John Herr, the founder of the [[Reformed Mennonite Church|Reformed Mennonite Church]] (1812). It is essentially a defense of the new group, a justification of their breach with the [[Mennonite Church (MC)|Mennonite Church]] (MC), and a statement of their principles. Its recurring theme is the apostasy of the Mennonite Church from the teachings of [[Menno Simons (1496-1561)|Menno Simons]] and [[Dirk Philips (1504-1568)|Dirk Philips]]. Chapter V (199-284) is headed, "It is explained why we have separated ourselves from the Mennonist Society; and why we cannot find spiritual liberty to hear their teachers." In addition to the reprints in the two editions of Herr's <em>Complete Works</em> (1875 and 1890), separate reprints were made in 1874 (German) and 1887 (English).
