Tjaert Geerts, beheaded at Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands, in February 1571 because he had protected some heretics and carried their letters, all contrary to the imperial mandates. Moreover he possessed forbidden heretical books, including twenty copies of Menno Simons. Tjaert probably was a Mennonite.
