Theunis Teeckssen (Anthonis Fredericx), of Naarden, Holland, a Sacramentist martyr, executed on 26 October 1529, at The Hague, after he had been in prison for two years. On the way to the scaffold Theunis is said to have sung the hymn "Ick arm schaep aen groener heyde" (I, poor sheep in the green moor), which was a very popular hymn among the early Dutch Mennonites. The martyr Reytse Aysesz also sang this hymn. It is inserted in Veelderhande Liedekens of 1556 and a number of old Mennonite hymnals.
