The Gathering Place in Airdrie, Alberta was accepted into the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in March 2005 with 28 charter members. The founding pastor was Kelly Steffen, who served until 2008. He was replaced by Ben Terlesky.

The congregation met at the St. Martin de Porres High School in Airdrie, Alberta.

After eight years the congregation held their final service on 26 June 2011.
