Tanneken van der Meulen, an Anabaptist martyr, was executed at the Vrijdagsmarkt in Ghent, Belgium, on 22 December 1569, by burning at the stake after being strangled. Particulars are lacking. Jaecxken van Hussele and Jaecxken Teerlings died with her as martyrs. She is commemorated in the hymn "Alsmen schreef duyst vijfhondert jaer ende twee en tsestich mede," found in the Lietboecxken.
