Symon, Symonsz (d. 1537)

Symonsz Symon, an Anabaptist martyr, was beheaded on 17 March 1537, at Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands. He was charged with having been rebaptized, "accepting the covenant (verbond) of the Anabaptists." He rejected the Mass and spoke disrespectfully of the Catholic Church. His property was confiscated. His place of residence is not stated. The sentence is published in DB 1917, 89 f.
