The congregation started when families began to move to the area from [[Linden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Linden, Alberta, Canada)|Linden]], [[Alberta (Canada)|Alberta]] in 1977. Other families came from the [[Hague (Saskatchewan, Canada)|Hague]], Saskatchewan area.
  
 In 1985 there were 79 members; in 2000, 128. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The language of worship is English.

The congregation organized on 10 June 1978. Initially, the congregation met in homes, and then in a former schoolhouse. The second story of the building served as the beginning of the Swanson Christian School, beginning in fall 1978. The congregation erected a new church building and dedicated it on 21 June 1980. The Swanson Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation near Swanson, Saskatchewan, Canada was established in 1978. The congregation started when families began to move to the area from Linden, Alberta in 1977. Other families came from the Hague, Saskatchewan area.

The congregation organized on 10 June 1978. Initially, the congregation met in homes, and then in a former schoolhouse.
