The Surrey Hispanic Church, pastored by Jorge Cardoza, began in 1993. It joined the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in 1999. The congregation worked closely with Cornerstone Community Church and met in the Fraser Valley Christian High School in Surrey. The church was able to hold regular Sunday worship services, several weekly Bible studies, and a leadership training program. However, it proved difficult to establish a solid base of members due to their high level of mobility, and the church closed several years after joining the BC MB Conference.
