The Surrey Hispanic Church, pastored by Jorge Cardoza, began in 1993. It joined the [[British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches|British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches]] in 1999. The congregation worked closely with [[Cornerstone Community Church (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada)|Cornerstone Community Church]] and met in the Fraser Valley Christian High School in Surrey. The church was able to hold regular Sunday worship services, several weekly Bible studies, and a leadership training program. However, it proved difficult to establish a solid base of members due to their high level of mobility, and the church closed several years after joining the BC MB Conference.
