Its ministry focused primarily on Hispanic people in that area, though it primarily utilized the English language and was attended by people from various ethnic backgrounds. In 1965 the congregation experienced a schism, out of which was founded the Faith Mennonite Brethren Church of Fresno. The Sunset Gardens congregation closed in 1968.
