Gottfried Stralen, of Geldern, Rhineland, one of the "Wassenberg preachers", was a close friend of Johannes Klopreis, and shared his fate. In Münster he was the preacher at the Ueberwasser-kirche and took an active part in the religious movement in the city. In October 1533 he was one of the editors of the evangelical Bekentnisse (Confession) van beyden Sacramenten. With Klopreis he was sent to Warendorf as a Münsterite apostle in 1534 and was burned at the stake with him at Brühl on 1 February 1535.
