Van Steenkiste, a former Dutch Mennonite family, whose members came from Belgium to the Dutch province of Zeeland (Aardenburg, Middelburg, Vlissingen) about 1600; some lived at Haarlem, where a Pieter van Steenkiste, apparently a deacon of the Flemish church, was involved in the controversies between Lucas Filips and Vincent de Hondt about 1600.
