Stauffer Mennonite Church (Wallenstein, Ontario, Canada)

The Stauffer Mennonite congregation near Wallenstein, ON began services in 1882. Jesse S. Bowman is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through division from Mennonite Conference of Ontario Mennonites in Woolwich Township in 1882 over issues of doctrine.

Bishop Jesse S. Bowman served in the 1880s as a non-salaried congregational leader. The congregation dissolved about 1887. It had been an unaffiliated Mennonite group. The language of worship was German.

The group moved to Osceola County, Iowa as part of a Stauffer Mennonite utopian community under the leadership of Jesse Bowman.
