Spring Mount Mennonite Church (Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, USA)
The Spring Mount Mennonite Church is located in Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA, in the Perkiomen Valley. At its beginning in 1934 this faith community was a mission Sunday School and summer Bible School, organized by the Franconia Mennonite Mission Board and facilitated by members of Salford Mennonite Church. In the early 20th century communities like Spring Mount were summer resort towns. Visitors from Philadelphia would travel there on the Perkiomen branch of the Reading Railroad. The old railroad line became the Perkiomen Trail, a popular recreational space and part of the county park system.
The mission group was organized as a congregation of the Franconia Mennonite Conference in 1949.
In 2016 Spring Mount's worship style was informal, participatory, and multi-voiced. The leadership structure included a church council and elder team, working with a pastor. Its vision statement read: "To reach out to our community as a healthy congregation able to offer welcome and fellowship for the purpose of salvation and nurture in God’s grace."

Spring Mount Mennonite Church (MC), located in the village of Spring Mount within 1.5 miles of the town of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, was dedicated on 17 July 1949. On 17 October 1949, Elmer M. Mack, chairman of the Franconia Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities, together with Jacob M. Moyer, bishop of the district, organized the mission group as a congregation of the Franconia Mennonite Conference. In 1955 the baptized membership was 68 with Paul L. Ruth as pastor. -- Marvin D.
