Seymour Old Order Amish Settlement (Seymour, Iowa, USA)

The Seymour, Iowa, Old Order Amish settlement began in December 1996 when the Perry Jay Lambright family moved to Seymour from the Milton, Iowa settlement. The Reuben N. Hershberger family from Dover, Delaware, arrived in February 1997.

Reuben Hershberger had been ordained as a bishop in 1991, and was the first resident ordained leader.

By 2015 the Seymour settlement had four districts southwest and northwest of the town of Seymour in Wayne County, Iowa. In 2010 Seymour had a population of 701. The Amish community at Seymour was composed of about 96 families in 2015.

In March 2017, four Amish farms southwest of Seymour were damaged by tornado, but were quickly rebuilt.
