Jan Dirksz Schotvanger was a preacher of the Old Frisian (Arke Noach) congregation at Amsterdam in 1707-35. He was one of the lay preachers who led this church for a number of years, others being Cornelis Lely, Cornelis Schellinger, and Marten Schagen. Though there is not much information concerning Schotvanger, it is known that he was pious, capable, and hard-working. Schotvanger died 1737 at Amsterdam, Netherlands. Cornelis Lely delivered his funeral sermon.
