Schijn family
Schijn, a Dutch Mennonite family, found at Amsterdam in the 17th and 18th centuries, members of the Zonist church. Herman Schijn was a noted elder and voluminous author. His brother (?) Laurens Schijn (d. 11 May 1713) was a deacon of the Rotterdam Flemish congregation from 1686 and from 1700 (merger of the Flemish and Waterlanders) of the united Rotterdam Mennonite church. Jacob Schijn, a son of Dr. Herman, served from 1721 as a deacon of the Amsterdam Zonist congregation. The Schijn family died out in the 18th century.
