Reference and Council, Committee of (General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches)

Committee of Reference and Council of the Mennonite Brethren General Conference was a standing committee of nine including the General Conference officers (chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary, and six men elected by the conference) to serve as the spiritual adviser and guardian for the church and all its agencies, in a sense the general supervisory body for the entire denomination, therefore of major importance. It was created in 1927 and made a standing committee in 1936.
