Reekalf, Goossen Jansz (16th century)

Goossen Jansz Reekalf, a burgomaster of Amsterdam in 1535, was kindly disposed to the Anabaptists in this town, though he was not an Anabaptist himself. In May 1535 he took stern measures to stop the assault of the small group of revolutionary Anabaptists on the city hall in Amsterdam.
