In 2003 Harvey and Shirley Janzen and Josinaldo and Shantelle Almeida had a vision to start a church in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan after Regal Heights Mennonite Brethren Church closed in June 1999. The Janzens eventually left for Yorkton, but the Almeidas continued and began hosting a regular gathering in their home. Services began in November 2003.
The church has a plurality of leadership approach to leadership with no senior pastor. The moderator provides leadership to the elder board, composed of elders and pastor/elder.
In 2011 the congregation planted the Riverhurst Church beside Lake Diefenbaker.
