Poplar Point Hutterite Bruderhof in Manitoba, founded in 1938. Their preacher Joseph Waldner, chosen 15 October 1905 by the Bon Homme Bruderhof in South Dakota, confirmed 17 March 1907 by the Huron Bruderhof in South Dakota, left the Huron Hutterite Colony in Elie, Manitoba with 11 families in 1938, bought land, and built the necessary buildings at Poplar Point, Manitoba. In 1939 Friedrich Waldner was chosen preacher. When Elder Joseph Kleinsasser died in 1947, Joseph Waldner was chosen in his place.

In 1950, 75 persons from the Poplar Point Bruderhof, including 21 baptized members, established the Springfield Bruderhof at Vivian, Manitoba, with Joseph Waldner (d. 1951), the elder of the entire body of Schmiedeleut, as preacher. Samuel S. Waldner was chosen as assistant pastor in 1950 at Poplar Point for the Springfield Bruderhof. Friedrich Waldner, pastor at Poplar Point, confirmed in the ministry at the Huron Bruderhof in 1946, stayed at Poplar Point with 80 persons, 26 of which were baptized members. The 1958 membership at Poplar Point was 42, in a population of 151. John Waldner was chosen as assistant pastor in 1957.

Daughter colonies of Poplar Point Colony include: Clearwater (Balmoral, Manitoba); Good Hope (Portage la Prairie, Manitoba); and Springfield (Anola, Manitoba).

In 2017 the Poplar Point Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 1 colony.
