Plain Lake Hutterite Colony in Two Hills, Alberta, was founded in 1970 (Hofer says 1969) as a division from the Scotford Hutterite Colony.

A daughter colony of the Plain Lake Hutterite Colony is the Hairy Hill Hutterite Colony (Hairy Hill, Alberta, Canada).

In 2017 the Plain Lake Hutterite Colony was a Dariusleut colony.
