Pinneberg, is a town (population of 41,000 in 2005) in the German state of [[Schleswig-Holstein (Germany)|Schleswig-Holstein]], capital of the district Pinneberg in Germany. It is located about 11 miles (17.7 km.) northwest of the center of Hamburg, Germany, and is the seat of a Mennonite home for the aged, opened in 1956 in a house rented for that purpose, and named "Abendfrieden." It was operated by [[Mennonitische Heime, e.V. (Germany)|Mennonitische Heime]] and served mostly aged Mennonite [[Refugees|refugees]] from [[West Prussia|West Prussia]].
