Pieryntgen (Pierijntje, Perinne, Printgen) (van) Loosvelt (Losveldt) (or Peeryntgen Neckers), an Anabaptist martyr, who at the age of 43 was taken prisoner at Meenen (Menin) in Flanders, Belgium, in 1572, while she was visiting a sick woman, and was burned at the stake on 6 January 1573. At no price could she be moved to betray her brethren. She was interrogated on ten points of doctrine, which she answered aptly with Biblical references. When she was led to death she said to the people, "Go and buy testaments and read in them why I am condemned to death and must die."
