Peters, Abram B. (1860-1959)
Abram B. Peters: an influential Bible teacher and preacher (Mennonite Brethren Church); born 26 March 1860 in Gnadenheim, South Russia, the son of Bernhard Peters and Agathe (Wiens) Peters. He was a teacher by profession, teaching 11 years at Tiegerweide and 25 years at Tashenak. He married Katharina Willms (d. 1923) on 21 June 1883; they had 14 children. In 1924 he left Russia with 6 children, settling finally in Winnipeg in 1927. Here he served many years as Bible School teacher, preacher, and pastoral helper. He was the first instructor in the Winnipeg German Bible School. He died 17 May 1959 in Oakville, Manitoba, Canada.
