Outrijve, van (originally d'Hauteryve, also Houterijve, Houtryve, Outryve, Autryve), a Mennonite family from French Flanders. In the early 17th century they left Belgium and moved to Aardenburg in Dutch Zealand Flanders and other towns of the province of Zeeland, like Vlissingen, Middelburg, and Goes. Joos(t) van Outrijve (d. 1682 at Vlissingen) was a preacher of the Mennonite congregation in this town. A collection of his sermons, entitled De sterre Jacobs of een ligt der Ziende, bestaande in XVIII Predicatien (Vlissingen, 1688), was published after his death. This book also contains several treatises and some letters by van Outrijve. The letters were separately reprinted at Groningen in 1720. His grandson Joost Pieters van Outryve (d. 1704 at Vlissingen) willed a large part of his property to the Vlissingen Mennonite congregation.
